ART STATEMENT

Moja praca artystyczna łączy w sobie dwie wielkie pasje: antropologię kulturową i sztukę.

Inspiracji do swoich prac szukam w otaczającej rzeczywistości.

My artistic work combines two great passions: cultural anthropology and art. I have always believed that integrating disparate interests, tastes, aesthetics, and disciplines is not only possible but highly desirable - for it is at such intersections that extraordinary things happen.

I draw inspiration for my work from the reality that surrounds me. Sometimes I examine it through a magnifying glass; at other times, I employ the research methods and tools of anthropology. I identify behavioral patterns that are not immediately apparent, as well as the traces left behind by these behaviors. I analyze how people occupy and exert control over space, and then translate these observations into the language of art.

Feminist themes are central to my work, with a particular focus on discourse and the ways in which language shapes our reality.

In my artistic practice, I most frequently turn to collage and installation, as they perfectly capture the nature of reality - fragmentary and blurred, yet profoundly rich and internally diverse. I value the fact that these mediums allow for the incorporation of every technique I have encountered thus far - from traditional forms like painting, drawing, and printmaking to photography, craft-based methods, and the use of light and sound. I strive to create art that engages all the senses, including the sense of smell. Such art fosters inclusion and engagement on a significantly deeper level. It allows one to step beyond the confines of art theory and the formal preparation - or lack thereof - required to engage with art, focusing instead on purely physical sensations that translate into emotions. In doing so, I dismantle the barrier that has been built up around contemporary art over the years; rather than being reserved for a "select few," art becomes accessible to anyone willing to perceive and understand their own personal experiences.
