"Body's history" is interactive - reminiscent of paper dolls that one could dress in paper outfits. In this case, however, it features a life-sized graphic mounted on a board, accompanied by various "flaws" or imperfections of the body that can be attached using Velcro, allowing one to "dress" oneself in these chosen traits. An integral part of the installation is a mirror - an object that, due to a patriarchal culture that reduces women to the status of an object, is often perceived as an enemy and an extension of the (deeply internalized) "male gaze."
The work premiered at the exhibition "Stirring" ("Poruszenie") at the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź (https://msl.org.pl/poruszenie).
