NA DNIE/ AT THE BOTTOM

Dwie strony życia – jasna (narodziny, trwanie) i ciemna (śmierć i przemijanie) tworzą to, czym jesteśmy i czym jest świat, w którym żyjemy.

"At the Bottom" – this work captures my approach to life quite well. I am detail-oriented; I tend to examine the world through a magnifying glass rather than taking in the bigger picture. This time, I decided to look more closely at small fragments - scraps of nature that I encountered during my walks. Withered blades of grass, bits of fruit long past their prime, flowers beginning to wilt or already completely dried out - the stuff of everyday life… It turned out that a macro perspective reveals a dark nature, one entirely invisible at first glance. These forms might evoke the shapes and shadows on a wall that haunt our dreams - or they might simply be what they are: tiny remnants of a natural world caught in an eternal cycle of birth and death.

In the process of socialization, we are often encouraged - sometimes even forced - to banish our inner demons and sorrows, all so that we might present a pleasant face to the world and cultivate a disposition that makes life easier. It is deeply refreshing to rediscover this darker side within oneself, even if that discovery comes from observing nature’s age-old cycle through the lens of a mundane drinking glass. The two sides of existence - the light (birth, endurance) and the dark (death, transience) - together define who we are and the nature of the world we inhabit. Striving for this awareness allows us to become whole, complete beings.
